Construction:
CONDUCTOR: SOLID ANNEALED BARE COPPER.
TWO-LAYER INSULATION: 1) INNER LAYER OF FOAMED POLYOLEFIN.
2) OUTER SKIN OF SOLID COLOR CODED POLYOLEFIN.
CORE ASSEMBLY: INSULATED CONDUCTORS ARE TWISTED INTO PAIRS OF VARYING TWIST LENGTHS TO MINIMIZE CROSSTALK.
CABLES OF 25PAIRS OR LESS ARE ASSEMBLED INTO A SINGLE GROUP.
CABLES OVER 25PAIRS ARE ARRANGED INTO SUBUNITS.
A FLOODING COMPOUND IS APPLIED TO THE ENTIRE CORE ASSEMBLY, COMPLETELY FILLING THE AIR SPACE BETWEEN THE INSULATED CONDUCTORS AND ALSO UNDER THE NON-HYGROSCOPIC TAPE WHICH WRAPS THE CABLE CORE.
SHIELD: .008"INCH(8 MIL) COATED CORRUGATED ALUMINUM TAPE APPLIED LONGITUDINALLY.
OVERALL JACKET: BLACK POLYETHYLENE.
